چکیده

We evaluate photoelectron angular anisotropy parameters for the process of sequential two-photon double electron ionization of helium within the lowest-order time-independent perturbation theory. Our results indicate that for photoelectron energies outside the interval Eslow,Efast , where Eslow= −VHe+ and Efast= −VHe, there is a considerable deviation from the dipole angular distribution, thus indicating the effect of electron correlation.

Angular anisotropy parameters and recoil-ion momentum distribution in two-photon double ionization of helium

We present convergent-close-coupling CCC calculations of the angular anisotropy parameters 2 , 4 and the recoil ion momentum distribution d /dp in two-photon double ionization TPDI of helium. In a stark contrast to single-photon double ionization SPDI , where the 2 parameter varies widely changing the angular distribution from isotropic to nearly dipole for slow and fast photoelectrons, respect...

Criterion for Distinguishing Sequential from Nonsequential Contributions to the Double Ionization of Helium in Ultrashort Extreme-Ultraviolet Pulses.

We quantify sequential and nonsequential contributions in two-photon double ionization of helium atoms by intense ultrashort extreme-ultraviolet pulses with central photon energies ℏω_{ctr} near the sequential double-ionization threshold. If the spectrum of such pulses overlaps both the sequential (ℏω>54.4 eV) and nonsequential (ℏω<54.4 eV) double-ionization regimes, the sequential and nonseque...

Angular distribution in two-photon double ionization of helium by intense attosecond soft X-ray pulses

Abstract We investigate two-photon double ionization of helium by intense (≈ 1015 W/cm2) ultrashort (≈ 300 as) soft X-ray pulses (E = 91.6 eV). The time-dependent two-electron Schrödinger equation is solved using a coupled channel method. We show that for ultrashort pulses the angular distribution of ejected electrons depends on the pulse duration and provides novel insights into the role of el...

Probing electron correlation via attosecond xuv pulses in the two-photon double ionization of helium.

Recent experimental developments of high-intensity, short-pulse extreme ultraviolet light sources are enhancing our ability to study electron-electron correlations. We perform time-dependent calculations to investigate the so-called "sequential" regime (variant Planck's over 2piomega > 54.4 eV) in the two-photon double ionization of helium. We show that attosecond pulses allow us not only to pr...
